When I started my weight loss journey, I was 18 years old. It took me 10 years to break free from my “diet” lifestyle, which was neither helping me lose real weight, nor doing the rest of my body any favors — I had intense daily sugar cravings, a frequently upset stomach,, rashy skin, and what felt like a permanently bloated belly (affectionately named Bella). I was tired all the time, and had no energy to move and sweat and breathe the way I wanted to. I had no idea that all these symptoms, including the inability to lose weight, were connected to something much bigger.
I was under the delusional impression that there MUST be some magic pill, potion, or quick-fix (cabbage soup for every meal) that would help me achieve my goal weight. I was so blinded by my goal to look a certain way that all my other symptoms were also getting worse. After 10 years of no lasting relief, I woke up from the delusion.
The solution was actually quite simple: eat real food and learn to really listen to my body.
I love food. A lot (I’m a Taurus). I also happen to be allergic to most of it, which has made for quite a challenge in my diet, but also makes me the perfect person to help you find out what really, truly works for you (not your coworker, not you friend or that person on Instagram) and only you.
